Spring Trends I am Loving!

Hey ya'll! Hope everyone is having a great week and had a great Easter! I decided to do a spur of the moment trip to Tuscaloosa to see Matt and it was so worth it! We went to Easter service at our favorite church, Church of the Highlands, and just spent some quality time together.

I wanted to share my top 5 current favorite spring clothing trends with ya'll- even though it is currently 35 degrees as I am writing this post! I am just into soo many trends lately and I just have to share them with you! These aren't necessarily new trends, but some I've noticed myself buying/ wearing a lot lately. You can click the pictures to shop each of these items I mention! All of these items are under $100- because I'm not going to recommend things to you that I wouldn't buy myself! Happy Shopping!

1. Gingham
Ya'll already know I am loving some gingham this spring! It's just such a cute, easy print to wear. I've been leaning more towards basic black & white gingham, but I've been wanting to incorporate some color gingham.

2. Espadrilles/ Flatforms
Okay, I know I am soooo late to this party but man am I excited to have discovered these! I am relatively short (about 5'1), so I need all the height help I can get! I also work in retail, so I spend most of the day on my feet. Espadrilles and flatforms have saved my life! You get the perfect amount of height without killing your feet! These are some of my favorites.
3. Straw/ Woven Purses
Time to be honest: I did not like this trend when it first started. I really didn't understand it and thought they looked bulky and were inconvenient. But, I broke down and bought one from American Threads and now I am obsessed!! They give the perfect detail to your spring outfits! Sometime I feel like my pictures or outfits are missing something- and adding these purses are the perfect touch!

4.  Jumpsuits
I never wore jumpsuits because I thought I was too short for them. But lately I've been finding some awesome one that have been fitting perfect! I love how comfy and easy they are to wear! Slowly but surely learning how to step out of my comfort zone with5.  my outfit choices and I'm loving it!

5. Stripes
Okay, who isn't loving stripes this season!? I can't get enough! Striped dresses, tops, rompers, jumpsuits... you name it, I love it! If you can't tell by the pictures, I am especially loving more neutral- toned stripes, like greys, & light blues.

These are my top 5 current favorite trends in clothing right now! Please let me know if ya'll like this style of post- where I link pictures that you can shop from. I love trying out new posts and seeing what ya'll like/ don't like. Happy Spring and have a great week!

Gone Gingham

Happy Monday!! I hope everyone had an awesome weekend! I had this past Saturday off (which is rare since I work in retail) so I spent the day exploring Dallas with some of my friends from college. We had brunch & drinks in Deep Ellum and just enjoyed the beautiful sunny & 75° day! I was also finally able to take some outfit pictures, which I've missed so much. So excited to finally share some outfit inspo with ya'll!

Sooo is anyone else as obsessed with gingham as I am?! I just can't get enough. Every time I go shopping I am drawn to to gingham tops, skirts, dresses, shoes, etc. I saw this top on the clearance rack at American Threads and had to get it. It's listed online as part of a set, so I'll tag a few similar tops here and here! It has the cutest tie detail in the front and zipper up the back. I also like it because its not to short for a crop top and is super flattering.
I also am a huge fan of skirts- they're my go-to for every season! This white linen skirt is my new favorite spring staple. You can pair it with anything and easily dress it up or down. This one isn't listed online so I'll tag similar here and here!
Lastly, let's not forget about my shoes! I am sooo in love with espadrilles! Like I said, I work in retail so these are the perfect shoes for me to wear all day and not kill my feet! Is it sad that I have these shoes in 3 colors!? Probably, but they are just such a spring essential!! These Steve Madden espadrilles are my all time favorites and run TTS.

I hope everyone has a great week! Can't wait to keep sharing my spring outfits with ya'll! As always, feel free to reach out to me for any questions about this outfit or anything in general!

Current Skincare Favorites

Happy Tuesday ya'll! Today I decided to share some of my current skincare favorites that I have been incorporating into my skin care routine. These are all products that I have recently been trying (since the new year) and have really been enjoying! There's a mix of face washes, masks, oils, and moisturizers that have all been put to the test for the past few months- and I love how they are helping my skin! (This is not a list of my holy grail skin products, just new things that have been really working out for me!)

Face Washes
- Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover: I really love how this is a face wash + make up remover all in one. It really takes off all of that remaining make up that is left behind after using a makeup wipe or a cleansing balm. It's also all natural, so there are no harsh chemicals, parabens, dyes, etc. This is definitely a favorite, and a great price!
- Origins Ginzing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser: This has the micro beads in it, so it really gives you a good deep clean. Not only do I love how this product cleanses my face, but the smell is amazing! It smells like tangerines and is soo refreshing. Perfect for a good morning face wash!
- Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash: This feel great on my face. I love to use it with my Clarisonic, because the rotation of the brush makes this face wash really froth up! I'm not usually a huge fan of foaming face washes, but I feel like this really gets the job done.

Face Moisturizers
- Origins Ginzing Energy Boosting Gel Moisturizer: This is the matching moisturizer to the face wash. This is a gel moisturizer, so it is super lightweight. I like to use this during the day and under my makeup. It also has the same wonderful smell!
- Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask: I know this says mask, but it's basically a super intense moisturizer. I have extremely dry skin, so I love to put a heavy duty moisturizer on before I got to bed at night. I can truly tell a diference when I wake up in the morning after putting this on the night before. My skin is moisturized and plump, but doesn't feel weighted down or greasy. A definite must for me!
- Ole Henriksen Truth Serum: I am soooo obsessed with this! I'm not really a serum or face oil person, but I absolutely love this product. It is so lightweight, but still leaves my face feeling moisturized. It also has Vitamin C in it, which is great for the skin and gives your face a natural glow. I love putting this on before my make up, almost as a primer. It is a little on the pricey side, but I think it is 100% worth it!

Face Masks
- Boscia Lumizing Black Mask: This is my favorite peel off mask ever! I just love peel off masks in general, because I feel like it is removing the grime and any black heads you might have. I love this one because it dries down quickly and peels off easily. I have been using this for a couple of years now and have not found anything that compares! (I know this post is supposed to be about new stuff I'm trying and loving, but I just had to include this one!!)
- Origins Original Skin Mask with Rose Clay: Love love love Origins masks! (and products in general, obviously!) They dry down completely- which I love in a clay mask! This one has little textures in it (I'm not 100% sure what they are), so it really exfoliates the skin.
- Origins Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask: Again, love Origins Masks! This is their best seller and I 100% understand why. Every time I use this I can tell the biggest difference in my skin. I leave it on for about 20 minutes, or until it is completely dried down and cracks when I move my face. I then just gently wash it off with a warm wash cloth, and my skin is good as new!
 - Sheet Masks: I don't have a specific brand or mask, but I have just been trying out tons of different sheet masks and am loving them! I honestly usually get a box from TJ Maxx for around $6. I seriously do one almost every night. I will wash my face, skip moisturizing, and then get in bed with a sheet mask. I put it on for about 15-20 minutes while I watch TV or scroll through my phone. After I take it off, I just rub in the extra product and go right to sleep. The next morning my face feels awesome! They help with my dry skin soooo much.

Random Skin Favorites
- Clarisonic Cleansing Brush: This has been a major game changer in my skin care routine! My face feels sooo much cleaner every time I use this! A common myth people think about the Clarisonic is that it exfoliates your skin every time you use it- that is not true. It is a deep clean, but it is not harsh on the face. I can not imagine my skin care routine without this now! I have the Mia 2 brush with the original brush head!
- Clinique Take the Day off Balm: I love this to take my makeup off with! I like makeup wipes, but sometimes I don't feel like they get all of my make up off. This definitely does and it great for days when you do a dramatic make up look. If you don't wear a whole lot of make up on a daily basis, I don't think you necessarily need this product. But if you do, I definitely think it will make your skin cleaner and clearer!

Trying new products is one of my favorite things, and I love being able to share my opinions and outcomes with ya'll. If you have any questions about any of these products, please don't hesitate to ask me! Hope ya'll have a great week!

Life Update // I'm back!

Wow, does it feel good to be back! I've missed blogging and sharing my passion with ya'll so much! My life has been crazy lately- and my shirt very acurately describes my current schedule
I want to jump right into the fun stuff (the clothes, makeup, etc.), but first I feel like I need to explain where I have been for the past two months and why I chose to take so much time off.

For those of you who don't know, I recently packed up and moved out to the Dallas, TX area- The Colony, Texas to be exact. I accepted a job with The Impeccable Pig and decided to move away from home and start a life of my own in the first week of December. I have been out here for a few months now and absolutely love it! It's definitely hard being away from home, but getting out on my own was just something I needed to do. So far, I can't complain! I love Dallas and I love getting to spend time with my family out here (I have aunts/ uncles & cousins who all live within 20 minutes of me).

I decided to take a break from blogging/ social media because I knew things would be crazy and it would take some time to get adjusted. Moving 800 miles away & starting my first full time job was a lot to take on at once and I knew I would not be able to give blogging an 100% effort.

Also, to be honest, I was lacking inspiration and motivation. I'm not gonna lie- it's hard at times being out here alone. My mom was a big part of my blogging and now she is so far away and unable to help as much. I'm having a hard time finding someone to take my pictures and making time to schedule shoots. I was spending so much money towards bills, deposits, and stuff for my apartment, so it just did not make sense to spend money on new clothes & beauty products.

But now, I am inspired and motivated more then ever to get this thing going again! I am not going to stick to some strict schedule or have strict guidelines on what I am going to blog about. Instead, it is going to be for fun & for sharing what I love. I want my blog & social media accounts to truly reflect my life & my personality. I love getting feedback from ya'll- so if anyone has any requests for blog posts or what ya'll want me to feature on my social media, please let me know!

Taking a Break: Moving + Starting a new job

Hey ya'll! Hope everyone's Thanksgiving holiday was great! Mine was full of lots of family, friends, food, and football! I also worked a lot, since Black Friday and Small Business Saturday are two of our busiest days at Unhinged Lifestyle Boutique. My boyfriend came to spend Thanksgiving with me and my family and it was so nice having him in Peachtree City for a full week! We're about to be 9 hours from each other, so I'm soaking in every minute we get together. We spent a lot of time by the bonfire, relaxing and playing cards. Other than my Crimson Tide losing on Saturday (which we will not discuss..) it was the perfect break!

I am writing this post to let ya'll know that I am taking a small break from blogging and social media. As I get ready to move to Dallas very soon (leaving on December 3), I have soooo much to do. I also want to really enjoy my last week living at home with my family, so being glued to my computer is out of the question. Another reason I want to take a break during this hectic time is because I don't want to blog if I am not going to put 100% effort into it- which I just can not do at this time.
I am so excited to star this next chapter of my life in Dallas! I am also excited to get settled in so I can start blogging again and sharing all of my awesome shopping I'll be doing out in Texas!
In the meantime, if ya'll need me please reach out to or by DMing me on instagram!

My Favorite Drugstore Makeup

Hey ya'll! I am so excited to share this highly requested post with ya'll! These are some of my favorite drugstore makeup products that I use every single day! I absolutely love shopping at Target, CVS, Ulta, etc. for great drugstore makeup! (I also use several beauty products from the drugstore that I will share in a different post). You really can find such great products at the drugstore that don't break the bank. I suggest doing your research (read blogs, reviews, watch Youtube videos, etc.) and learn what products are out there! Please let me know if ya'll like posts like this because I love writing them and would love to share more reviews/ suggestions with ya'll!
As always, please feel free to email me or message me on Instagram / Facebook with any questions about shades/ colors I use, product suggestions, etc.! Hope ya'll have a great week!

Face Products
  • Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer: This concealer is soooo creamy and easy to blend! It's very brightening and helps A LOT to hide your lack of sleep! I love the shade "neutralizer" because it has a yellowy undertone and works well with lots of skin tones! I definitely suggest adding this to your makeup collection.
  •  Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation: Ya'll.. this is the BEST foundation and its only $4.69! It goes on so smooth and has a natural finish. It's great for photos because it doesn't have any flashback. The wand applicator that comes with it makes it so easy to apply on your skin before using your sponge or brush to blend it in. I can't say enough about this foundation- you've got to give it a try!
  • L'oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation: This is the best foundation if you have dry skin! I have extremely dry skin and I have gone through about 5 bottles of this since I've started using it. It's extremely moisturizing, but doesn't leave you feeling greasy at all. I love mixing this in with other foundations to give it a glowing, moisturizing finish.
  • NYX Angel Veil Primer: This is my all time favorite drugstore primer! It smooths out your skin and fills in pores, but also keeps the skin hydrated. It doesn't have a greasy feeling at all- which happens a lot of times with primers. I put a thin layer of this all over my face under my foundation. It helps your foundation last longer too!
  • Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer: The best bronzer! I have never found a bronzer that I like as much as this one. It's subtle- so it doesn't give you that "muddy" look. It's very natural! Make sure you get the "Bronzer" and not the "Light Bronzer" because the light doesn't have much color to it.

  •  Maybelline Master Chrome Higlighter: I was having a really hard time finding a drugstore highlighter until I came across this one! It has a great golden tone and shine to it without having chunks of glitter. I love adding a little of this to my cheeks to give my face a little glow.
  • Milani Baked Blush: These are sooo pretty! My favorite high end blushes are the Becca Flowerchild and the Nars Orgasm because they both have a shimmering finish to them, and so does these Milani ones! They have great color options and look very natural. I always say that blush is one thing that you don't need to spend alot of money on because there are so many great drugstore options.
Eye Products
  • Essence Volume Stylist 18 hr. Lash Extension Mascara: This is another great drugstore option! This gives you the "falsies" look without actually having to wear false eyelashes. It's really great for lenght, so I like to combine this with the L'oreal one to get the perfect mix of length and volume!
Lip Products
  • Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color: I love these for a few reasons. First, they have a really great color selection, which I feel like isn't always the case at the drugstore. Second, they are so comfortable to wear! If you have ever tried a liquid lipstick, then you know that they can sometimes be extremely drying, but these aren't at all! They aren't super long wearing, but that really isn't an issue for me. I really love these!
  • Maybelline Vivid Hot Lacquer Lip Gloss: I love this gloss because it isn't sticky! You don't get those gross stringy lines when you rub your lips together. They also have great color options and are super comfortable to wear! I just throw this in my purse and put it on throughout the day and don't have to worry about it looking messy on my lips. This is one of my favorite drug store glosses!
  • L'oreal Infallible Lip Paints: These are the perfect combo between a liquid lipstick and a gloss. I love the color options- there's so many good nudes and pinks! They're also so comfortable to wear! This line also has mattes and metallics, but I don't like those as much. The paints are definitely my favorite!
Makeup Brushes/ Tools
  • Ecotools Perfecting Blending Duo: For a long time, the only good makeup sponge I could find was the Beauty Blender, which definitely isn't cheap. Recently, sooo many drugstore companies have come out with great alternatives! I love these ecotools ones, and getting two different sizes can be very helpful for applying foundation, concealer, etc.
  • Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge: This is my personal favorite beauty sponge. Since I started using it, I can't do my makeup without it! I love the flat edge to really buff in my foundation and the pointed edge is great to get under your eye. Just run it under the water for like 10 seconds and squeeze it out before applying your makeup- you will get the most flawless finish!
  • Real Techniques Makeup Brushes: I didn't want to separately list each makeup brush I love by them because this post is already super long! But this is such a good drugstore makeup brush option. All of my brushes are either from Real Techniques or Morphe, because you just can't beat the price! If ya'll want, I can do a separate post on my makeup brushes and what I use for each step.

Dressy + Comfy: The Perfect Combo

Hey ya'll! First off, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for the sweet and encouraging responses to my last post and my job announcement! I am so excited for this next chapter of my life! If anyone has any suggestions about apartments, restaurants, shopping, or anything else in the Dallas area please let me know!!

On a day to day basis, I usually dress comfy & casual. I love oversized sweaters, graphic tees, and cardigans. However, I know that there are times when I'm going to have to ditch the leggings and dress up a little bit. This outfit is the perfect combo of dressy and comfy! These Free People jeans have spandex in them, so they are sooo stretchy and comfy- it feels like you are wearing leggings! I usually only wear jeans with rips, but these help to "dress up" the outfit a little bit. I got mine a while ago, but I've linked a similar pair here. To add some more "dressy" details to the outfit, I wore this cheetah tank (which is on sale for only $14.50 right now!!) and these Jessica Simpson black strappy heels. If it was spring or summer, I would just stop here and wear it without the cardigan, but it's quickly getting colder here so I chose to pair it with this chunky cardigan. This outfit is perfect for a nice dinner, holiday party, or work event. If you were going to a business meeting or professional outing, you could easily switch the cardigan for a blazer or leather jacket. At the same time, if you were going to a casual event, you can just trade the heels for some ankle booties or basic mules. I love how versatile this outfit is for any event that you are attending!

Hope ya'll have a great week! Stay tuned for Sunday's post- it is a very requested one!
